Let there be light (Part 1)

This teaching is a thorough examination of the opening verses of the scriptures – it explores what the ‘Light’ in Genesis truly means. In explaining this, this first part appraises the need for context in bible interpretation; that is, it’s important to understand who is writing, when and why it was written, to whom it was written, and what has been said before.

A careful look at the scriptures reveals to us the context in Genesis, and shows us how God’s plan for Israel was to be a model nation; to shine forth the light to other nations, just as the church (the spiritual Israel) ought to do today. Thus, it examines the relationship between Moses and Israel and why he would write Genesis to them.

This teaching is proper theology, and it is certain to help you have a better understanding of the scriptures and your role as a light to the world.
